The Casino Nova Scotia Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program covers both casinos in the province, Halifax and Sydney. A person chooses a term of 6 months, one year, three years or indefinite. Enrolment can start with any casino staff member or at the Responsible Gambling Resource Centre. The Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division of Service Nova Scotia also takes enrolments in Halifax or Sydney. People who have self-excluded cannot win prizes.
On alc.ca, Nova Scotia's provincially regulated online site, a player can set separate breaks. A short break runs from 1 to 90 days, and a long break lasts 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. Neither kind can be reversed. Weekly deposit, daily session and daily wager limits are offered there too.
